They are shelved in purpose made cloth bags with an adhered instant pic, so at a glance I know what style is where! Side tracked – sorry! Caring for our shoes will maintain and preserve the life our shoe. Kind of protecting our investment, whether we’ve spent a lot, or not.

How do I care for my new shoes?

I waterproof all my new shoes!! I buy a standard waterproof spray from my local supermarket (we cannot offer this product @, as postage restrictions do not permit aerosol sprays). This spray protects my shoes from dirt and moisture penetration. I give them a good liberal spray which coats the shoe in a thin, invisible silicon membrane. This assists in repelling moisture and water. I repeat the waterproofing process on a regular basis because the protection does wears down.

Suede / nubuck: Spray suede / nubuck with an appropriate protector before wear, to help protect against water damage and other stains. A suede brush will also help maintain the nap. If suede / nubuck does get wet, soak up excess moisture with a clean towel. Then allow the suede to dry naturally; do not use a heat source to speed up the process. Once dry, restore the nap with a suede brush.

Leather: Care of your leather shoes is not just about making your shoes look great, it’s also about preserving and adding to the life of your leather shoes. An appropriate product should be used to clean, condition, polish and waterproof. Without proper conditioning and care, leather can dry out until it eventually cracks and falls apart, and you’ll no longer want to wear them out of the house. A coat of roll on shoe colour may help with scuffs and make your shoes look brighter, but it will not nourish the ongoing life of this natural fibre.

Textiles / Satin: It is imperative to waterproof a fabric shoe with an appropriate protector spray. The fabric once treated will repel water or fluid, allowing any spillages to be wiped away with a damp cloth. Be careful to dry naturally as direct sun could fade fabric colour.

* Shoes need a rest!! Shoes, especially leather lined shoes absorb natural moisture from your feet, a day of rest will allow the leather and inner linings and cushionings time to recover. So, alternate your shoes.

* Shoe bags are a good way of protecting shoes when they are not being worn.

* Shoe accessories like stretchers and trees help make your shoes more comfortable and help maintain their shape longer (I have always thought this more appropriate for men’s shoes).

* If your shoes happen to get wet let them dry naturally and not by direct heat or sunlight. Whilst shoes are still wet wipe away any mud or dirt with a cloth. To maintain the shape and leather texture of the shoes during the drying process stuff them with tissue or a pair of socks.

* Heel tips on heeled shoes should be replaced according to wear, to avoid slipping and heel damage (all fine heel styles @ come with replacements tips in the box).

* A fitting insole ensures great comfort. offers an extensive range of footcare products. Perfectly shaped insoles made of gel and cushioned textiles, providing extra stability for easy walking and let you always keep your balance, even in high heels.

Even after long use, your shoes will still look as good as new.  ………

I have been shoe-obsessed for the greater part of my life! From stick figures with elaborately illustrated heels as a child, to my first part-time job in a shoe boutique, to a Cinderella tale of marrying into a 'shoe' family! I was a destined cobbler. The last 20 years have been dedicated to footwear design. I blend my knowledge of colour, material and form to create silhouettes that evoke glamour and elegance. I draw every sketch, select materials and finalise each construction detail that produces all shoes. I do this with passion - appealing to conservative, eclectic and adventurous personalities and tastes. My philosophy “give a girl the right pair of shoes, and she can conquer the world!” Google Plus
